I bought these for my son who played both football, as the kicker, and club soccer in the cleats. After 4 months the plastic sole beneath the padded insert broke into pieces. The hard plastic that is beneath the insert is the backbone of the cleat, and I’ve never in all my 51 years seen a cleat come apart from inside. These cleats were $150, and my son knew how much they cost us, and had been carefully assembling the cleats after games for the last 4 weeks without my knowledge. Then I saw what he was doing, and I asked how come you’re fiddling with the cleats. It was then I learned that he had been assembling the plastic soles to get them just right, prior to games. Meanwhile the exterior of the cleats are intact, molded to my sons feet, and the spikes are not overly worn at all. Looking at the cleats from the exterior, he should get another 5 months of wear out of them, but not in the condition of the interior of the cleat. I’m very disappointed in having purchased a ‘top of the line’ Puma King Top FG cleat, and getting this result. This is the second pair for our family, as I bought a year prior a set for my daughter, and this never occurred. The manufacturing process for the interior lacks quality. One should never have to worry that the backbone of the interior will shatter into fragments. The plastic quality must be poor and can not endure heat and pressure to meet the ordinary demands of athletic play. I would highly recommend to reconsider any purchase from Puma for their King series shoe in the future. I give the shoe an overall 2 star, and would give a 1 star, but for the 4 months my son used them – they were a 5 star cleat, however due to the shattering of the insole, they get a 2 star and I would even say deserve a 1 star because we need to buy new cleats. Comfort and style were both 5 star, but now that the cleat interior is shattered, the comfort is compromised, leading us to buy new cleats before these were even worn out. I hope this review helps others considering the purchase of Puma Kings.
